Your Treatment
Adjustments
The adjustment is the primary treatment used by Chiropractors for treating spinal or extremity complaints. The doctor will find areas of restricted motion and then apply a gentle thrust into the joint. This allows proper motion and function of the joint to be restored. The nerves that originate from the spine, travel to organs and tissues throughout the whole body. Chiropractic adjustments have the ability to improve not only back pain, but overall nervous system function.
There are many common misconceptions when it comes to the actual “cracking” sound made using specific adjustment techniques. It is much more gentle than anticipated. The sound is actually called a cavitation. It is caused gas being released within the joint. This helps decompress the spine, reducing stress and restoring normal biomechanics. There is no wearing of joints due to “grinding.” In fact, quite the opposite. Adjustments improve the motion of your joints and limit the dysfunctional “grinding” that is often noted with arthritis. Most people feel decreased stress, tension, and better mobility after an adjustment.
Class IV Medical Laser
Laser Therapy has been approved by the FDA. The Summus Laser utilizes specific wavelengths of light that affect muscles, joints, and tissues. This process is called ” Photobiomodulation”. It expedites the healing process and is used primarily for patients suffering from an assortment of acute, and chronic pain and inflammatory-related conditions.
The Summus Medical Laser differs from that of other class 3a and 3b laser and red light therapy devices by supplying up to 1500 times more power deep into target tissues. Due to the greater amount of energy delivered, this laser device is not considered to be a “low-level” or “cold” laser.
Conditions that can be improved with Laser Therapy include:
- Tendinopathies
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Myofascial Trigger Points
- Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)
- Ligament Sprains Muscle Strains
- Repetitive Stress Injuries
- Chondromalacia
- TMJ pain
- Patellae
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Shoulder, Back & Knee Pain
- Herpes Zoster (Shingles)
- Post-Traumatic Injury
- Trigeminal Neuralgia∙ Fibromyalgia
- Diabetic Neuropathy & Diabetic Foot Ulcers
- Venous Ulcers
- Burns
- Deep Edema / Congestion
- Sports Injuries
- Auto & Work Related Injuries
Clinical studies and trials of laser therapy instruments indicate the following beneficial effects of laser light therapy on tissues and cells:
- Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth.
- Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation.
- Anti-Inflammation.
- Analgesia.
- Improved Vascular Activity.
- Increased Metabolic Activity.
- Improved Nerve Function.
- Immunoregulation.
- Trigger Points and Acupuncture Points.
Rapid Release Therapy
Rapid Release Therapy is a FDA registered high-speed vibration device. It targets large and small muscle areas to reduce muscle spasm, trigger points and break down scar/ release fascial tissue. This treatment vibrates at 10,000 RPM. At home massage devices only use around 2,100-3,600 RPM and use a percussion type force. Rapid release uses this high energy to help reduce pain, tension, stress, and muscle tightness while releasing fascia as well.
Soft Tissue Therapy
IASTM- Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization is a technique used to break up fascial adhesions (the connective tissue surrounding your muscles) and scar tissue. This results in an improved range of motion, more efficient biomechanics, and brings blood flow to the area. This allows injuries to heal more quickly and reduces restrictions surrounding your joints.
Electrical Stimulation
There are many forms of electrical stimulation used to treat a large variety of musculoskeletal injuries and nerve pain. E-Stim accelerates deep tissue healing by electrical impulses that cause repeated muscle contractions. These contractions increasing blood flow helping repair injured muscles and improve their strength through cycles of contraction and relaxation. E-stim focus also sends signals that reach the nerves, to block pain receptors from being sent to the brain, resulting in pain relief.
One common question is: “How is E-Stim different than the TENS unit I have at home?” There is a large difference. Although TENS units help reduce the pain signals the current is not as strong and no muscle contraction occurs eliminating the healing component.

Who we help
Chiropractic for pregnancy:
Dr. Courtney is a Webster certified chiropractor. This means that she has specific training in prenatal chiropractic care. The technique involves an analysis and gentle adjustment to the sacrum (tail bone). In addition gentle massage of specific muscles and ligaments reduce stress on your body and baby. The goal is to reduce the effects of pelvic imbalance. This restores proper maternal physiology. By addressing several causes of dystocia (stalled labor) ,the Webster technique may lead to a safer easier birth outcome.
Pelvic imbalance impacts:
– comfort for both mom and baby
-optimal fetal positioning
– labor progression
Chiropractic care is a safe and natural way to help treat discomfort developed during pregnancy. Prenatal adjustments can help with low back, sciatica pain, mid back and neck pain.
There is no contact with baby at any time.

Athletes
How can a chiropractor improve your athletic performance?
Almost every major sports team hire chiropractors to ensure their team can perform their best! Chiropractic adjustments help athletes improve performance, reduce the risk of injury and improve nervous system function.
If a runners pelvis has restricted motion their maximum stride potential cannot be reached.
If a swimmers sacrum is restricted their ability to kick efficiently is reduced.
These small changes in bio-mechanics have significant performance impacts. There is a the reason athletes like Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps and Tom Brady are all proud patients of chiropractors. They want to be the best and perform to their full potential!
Sports Physicals are offered for middle and high school aged students for $25.00.
Chiropractic for seniors
Many senior citizens are benefiting from pain relief, increased mobility and balance because of regular chiropractic care.
It is a well known fact that degenerative disc disease and arthritis are common as we age. The severity can vary depending on the amount of stress your body has been through over the years. How can chiropractors help with this? Chiropractic adjustments restore proper motion to the joints helping to prevent arthritis. Once arthritis develops adjustments can slow down the arthritic process. This is why preventative chiropractic adjustments are so important. As a result you will have improved quality of life for years to come.
Ever wonder why people “shrink” when they age?
Did you know that your discs make up ¼ of your body height?
The answer is that degeneration (dehydration or injury) of your discs is what causes this.
Get adjusted today to prevent further injury to your spine.
Chiropractic care for babies & children:
Dr. Courtney and Dr. Elizabeth are experienced in working with patients of all ages. This being said, babies and children are often forgotten when it comes to chiropractic care. Many people ask “why do children need adjustments, they don’t have any pain?”. Let’s start from the beginning, the birthing process can be a traumatic event. Chiropractors check the spine following birth and throughout childhood to ensure optimal neurological and structural development. When infants are developing their bones have not fully hardened yet (ossified). Because of this they are subject to injury or may develop misalignment’s chiropractors call subluxations from infancy. We have all seen children crawling, climbing, falling, playing sports etc. It is a part of childhood but can have long term effects if left untreated. Chiropractic adjustments are a great addition to your families health habits. Developing these habits in your children from a young age will contribute to your family’s optimal health.
